Russia’s Rostelecom offers new secure, quick cloud storage

MOSCOW, Aug 22 (PRIME) -- Russian state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom has launched a new cloud project called Virtual Storage allowing clients to deploy within a couple of minutes a virtual storage facility with a high level of security and online access to data, the company said Monday in a statement.

“Our company sees a high demand for cloud solutions among our clients. Only in the second quarter, an income from additional and cloud services grew 36% on the year. The Virtual Data Processing Center is a champion by popularity,” Alexander Obukhov, the company’s director of the project office, said.

The new nationwide service is aimed at big corporate clients and state customers, as well as at small and medium-sized business.

The service is unique because it allocates tens and hundreds of terabytes of disc memory within minutes for clients’ information.

Rostelecom offers seven days of free testing and then charges daily for the space used.
